This praise chorus has been outfitted with stylized piano accompaniment, optional solo response, and lots of repetition—an apt addition to your contemporary worship service. A jazzy piano introduction sets the scene for the high energy unison choral entrance. Parts divide at measure 13 for the concluding phrase of the refrain. Two stanzas share identical notes through the use of first and second endings. Texts of praise include “Lift your banner high,” “Let’s all exalt,” and “He’s come to reign.” The final section continues to repeat the title phrase, moves the key up from F major to G major, introduces optional hand claps, and adds an optional solo with response statements.
The accompaniment requires a solid player. Parallel octaves, accidentals, and contemporary rhythms enhance the style of the piece and are critical to the overall effect. Vocal parts are suited to the adult four-part ensemble.
Performance options include using this as a general gathering song. The last section, measure 58 to the end, may be used as a benediction. The solo is optional as are the hand claps.
