The Walk to Emmaus and Chrysalis are interdenominational movements that bring together people who seek to know God better. The goal for each 3-day event is to infuse participants with a sense of God’s unconditional love, or agape love.
Tangible signs of agape are everywhere during a Walk to Emmaus or a Chrysalis weekend. Unconditional love is demonstrated to the participants through sponsorship, acts of servanthood, personal letters, snacks, and small gifts that are given to participants throughout the weekend.
This book explains the various forms of agape and anonymous acts of servanthood that are vital in communicating unconditional love during each 3-day event. The appendices include popular recipes for food agape and ideas for table and pillow agape.
Giving is the nature of God’s love. Agape received during one’s Walk to Emmaus or Chryalis experience has a ripple effect. As pilgrims and butterflies reflect on being showered with nonstop agape in all its forms, many recognize the love of Christ in ways they have never imagined before. The hope is that they will return to their church and communities ready to share God’s unconditional love with others.
