As shared in her new autobiography, Child of Scorn Reborn, the author didn't know about a loving Savior, learning briefly about God as a child when her beloved adoptive father died and she moved among several adoptive homes. Her early marriage to husband Bubba allowed her to begin a new life as a military wife, mother, and educated career woman, while witnessing God emerge in the fabric of her life.
