As very young boys, Kakembo and his little brother, Joseph, were left to live on the streets of Mityana, Uganda. Their father had died in a war, and eventually their mother passed away. With no relatives or support, life was a dangerous and very insecure world of cold, hunger and thirst. Fortunately, a pastor and his wife gave the boys a home, saving them from a desperate and cruel world. As other small children were slowly added, a children's orphanage ensued under the care of the pastor and his wife. As the brothers took over duties, the Covid-19 pandemic hit leaving the orphanage with severe financial and food shortages along with much illness.
