I am a semiretired contractor living in Lumberton, N. C. with my wife, Katie. We attend First Pentecostal Holiness Church here and feel the faith of our pastor and congregation a wonderful spiritual comfort. We enjoy trips to the mountains or beach and browsing antique stores, etc. I was inspired to write this book because I have seen false doctrine creeping into many mainstream churches in my lifetime and feel the call of the Holy Spirit to try to reverse this trend and restore the simple gospel of a personal relationship with God through Christ. I am not called as clergy, just feel that it is very important for both laity and clergy who believe as I do to make our voices heard. Christianity today has nowhere the influence on American culture that it had in my boyhood years. We have fallen prey to worldly forces that left many deceived, disheartened, doubtful of the authority of the gospel, and our commission to spread it. If we would return to what our Lord wants us to be, something must change. The whole church and our leadership must unite in a great push for revival. We now face opposition in control of every secular means of cultural influence. This book is about what we must do to change America; getting back to personal relationships with Christ, realizing He needs us to be a united force to spread His salvation, acknowledging this duty to Him, and trusting the Holy Spirit to lead us.
