His Christian beliefs shifted from the old Catholic paradigm to a new paradigm - one that includes a cosmic, universal Christ. He reveals how he went from seeing God as judgmental and punitive to loving and forgiving. He also reveals that he no longer believes we were born with original sin - instead, he thinks we were born with original goodness. Rather than seeing sin as shameful and something to be avoided, he now views it as a deviation from Christ's path for us that is a fact of life and provides teaching moments for spiritual growth and transformation.
