Erforscht werden Studienorte, Bildung, Klosterleben, Ansehen bei den Burgern, Streben nach Reformen, das Ringen um die Legitimitat der Existenz als Monch, Veranderungen im Kloster-Gottesdienst, die mittelalterlichen Stiftungen angesichts des Bettels. Vor und nach der Klosterauflosung betraut der Rat die Monche mit neuen Aufgaben in Stadt und Land. So zeigen sich bisher nur wenig bekannte Lebenswege, auch dank der Abfindungsurkunden. Ludwig Wursters Reformatoren-Wappen fasst das geistliche Vermachtnis der Zeit zusammen.
English summary: Ludwig Wurster, once as monk a member of the Augustinian Convent in Nuremberg, student of Theology in Wittenberg, became a tanner for the reasons of his faith. Ludwigs co-members handed over their monastery to the department of alms in the city. Both events point to the preconditions of Reformation in Nuremberg: the members of the Augustinian Convent braught the new ideas into the city and performed the transformation. Items of this research are their academic studies, the live in the cloister, their reputation among the citizens, the claim of reforms, the discussions about the legitimacy of the life as a monk and of the medieval donations in spite of poverty in the city, the transformation of the church services and church life. Before and after the cloister has passed over to the board of alms the city council gave new duties to the monks, as well in the city as in the countryside. By this way we get notice to hidden journeys through life. is As a summary of the spiritual ideas of the time Wurster left to his family a coat of arms in the style of Luther's rose.
