Oh No, Where Did He Go takes its readers through the process of losing someone very special to them. It shows the mix of emotions that children can feel and how to cope with them. JT is the main character and he finds answers to his questions: Where is grandpa not, how will I ever find him, how can he get out of the hole they put the big box in ? It is a lesson of love, care and trust in the God who loves us most.
KAY THOMSON grew up in NJ where her father pastored the First United Methodist Church in Barrington. At age 19 she married Dale Thomson and they moved across the country to CA. Kay committed her life to Christ at age 21 and her life began a new chapter following whatever God had planned for her. Kay and Dale had two beautiful girls and 6 grandchildren.
The couple spent 25 years teaching Sunday School at the church in Los Altos. They spent 21 years with Middle Schoolers, High Schoolers and then 4 yr. olds. They had many experiences with students in camps, road trips, choir tours, and Bible Studies. Each experience brought opportunities to share the grace and love of the God they followed.
When Dale moved his residence to heaven, it provided a new experience for the grandchildren to understand where their grandpa was and what he was like now. Oh NO Where Did He Go? has helped children understand the assurance and JOY that comes from following Jesus. Kay now resides in Roseville, CA and is the author of two other books: Journey to Joy and Finding JOY in the Midst of Grief.
MACEY DONLEY, illustrator for Oh NO, Where Did He Go? is Kay Thomson's granddaughter. Macey grew up in San Jose, CA going to Christian schools all her life. Macey committed her life to God when she was 8 years old. As a girl, Macey drew all the time and as she got older, she dedicated more time to her love and skill for art. She has since begun studying Psychology at San Diego State University and recently received her Emergency Medical Technician certification. Macey is continuing to grow in her faith by participating in her college ministry group, Challenge, and by attending Del Cerro Baptist Church.
DR. CRAIG KRAFT is a loving husband and father of four adult boys, and is the Executive Director of Outreach Canada. Craig and Kay have walked the path of grief together for Craig's mother (one of Kay's best friends) and Kay's Husband (a very special uncle to Craig). His insight into hermit crabs and his tremendous love for Christ helped to craft the Hermit Crab and Grandpa story.
